I was listening to Chinna thaai aval from Thalapathi last night when I heard this beautifully crafted line (by Vaali) for the first time in all its glory

Thaai azhudhaale nee vara, nee azhudhaaye thaai vara

Four words, repeated with just two words interchanged. And yet this is enough to convey the poignant emotions of the situation, which is  an unwed young mother abandoning her newly born baby tearfully. Isn’t this beautiful ?

This particular line translates to  “Mother cried while you came, you cried for mother to come”.
