Marupadiyum

My attempt at translating one of my favourite songs of Vaali

Sometimes men change their colours, my dear
And tread different paths altogether.
Flaws might appear in laws, once so strong
Lovingly written stories might go wrong.

Though it dies each night, it is no surprise,
When the next day, we witness the sun’s rise.
Waves of the sea, haven’t made us worry
For ebbs and flows, come to them naturally.

Dark and lonely once, was the moon-less night.
The lamps have since, shown us the reach of light.
Though a door has closed all of a sudden
Have faith, mine own, for one more He shall open
