Thalayana Manthram

I truly feel uneasy watching films where good characters head to their ruin step by step, pour example, visu padams. This would have a made typical one, but what a package. Less of the melodrama, great acting, malayalam setting, sreenivasan’s script and mere screen presence, a glowing urvasi, and a haunting melody with which the film opens (thooval vinnin maarvil thoovi) sung beautifully by yesudas (who else!) and chitra (?). A ,well, moral-teaching film truly, but great packaging!
